I specialize in “open book priced” solar system installations, in which the customer sees all costs associated with their solar system. I get a pre-established flat fee and make no money on materials, this dynamic creates a very open and honest relationship with the customer.

Solar Systems will have a 15% to 25% return on investment. I have seen so many panels installed that are completed shaded or have other issues, because solar contractors make more money the more solar they get on your roof.

Leasing & PPA’s

A solar power lease or purchase agreement (PPA) is a financial agreement where an installer puts his own solar system on a customer’s property at no cost. The installer sells the power generated to the host customer at a fixed rate that is much lower than the local utility’s retail rate. This lower electricity price serves to offset the customer’s purchase of electricity from the grid while the developer receives the income from these sales of electricity as well as any tax credits and other incentives generated from the system.

PPAs typically range from 10 to 20 years and the developer remains responsible for the operation and maintenance of the system for the duration of the agreement. At the end of the PPA contract term, the system is given to the customer.

About Me

My name is James “Jamie” Marchitello and I got into solar while studying mechanical engineering at Rutgers. After I graduated in 2006, I noticed a lot of my neighbors were over paying for solar systems and thus started Solar Power March to help friends and family get systems installed at a fair price.

I have developed a flat fee pricing model in which the client can see the costs of everything. In doing this, I believe I am the only solar contractor that is still friends with everyone of my clients, as I hear stories of bad contractors all the time. Solar Power March is a certified installer with the NJ Clean Energy program.
